Sacred Heart Southern Episcopal Church will be meeting at 1440 Highway 70 East, Dickson, Tennessee. We are bringing traditional Anglican worship to Dickson, Tennessee, a community in Dickson County near Nashville. We worship using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, supplemented with the People's Anglican Missal. We use the King James Version of Holy Scriptures including the Apocrypha as published in 1611.
We are located in rural Dickson County, Tennessee. We are 30 minutes west of Nashville, Tennessee. We serve the nearby communities of Dickson, Burns, White Bluff, Charlotte, Fairview, Lyles, Bon Aqua, Pegram, and Kingston Springs. We have members who come from as far as Clarksville, Nashville, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro. We are restoring traditional Anglican worship in rural middle Tennessee just west of Nashville. We hold firm to the truth of Jesus Christ and the traditions of His church. For more information on what we believe, see the beliefs page.
We celebrate Holy Communion on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Sometimes we add an abbreviated form of Morning Prayer. We celebrate many Holy Days with Holy Communion, or occasionally Evening Prayer at 6 p.m. on weekday evenings (see our calendar page). We will have Evening Prayer on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. in weeks that do not have a special weekday Holy Communion service. In the summer, we shift our weekday evening services to 7 p.m. in order to accommodate our parishioners' active summer schedules.
We hope you will join us in worship soon.
We are currently holding classes at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The topic is Southern Episcopalians--who we are, what we believe. These classes can lead to confirmation for those who need that sacrament, but all are welcome to attend.
